Apolytikion for the Conception of St John the Forerunner

BE glad, O barren one, who before barest no child: for behold, thou hast conceived a lamp for the Sun, to shed clear light upon the days to come, upon the whole inhabited world sick with blindness.

Dance, Zechariah! Cry aloud with boldness: The one to be born is Prophet of the Most High!

Apolytikion on the Feast of the Conception of St John the Forerunner. My non-expert translation from Analogion. (Arch. Ephrem Lash translates it slightly differently at Anastasis.)
