BLESSED are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.

Remember us, O Christ the Saviour of the world, as thou rememberedst the thief upon the cross, and make us all worthy, O thou who alone art compassionate, of thy heavenly kingdom.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Hear O Adam, and rejoice with Eve, for he that upon a time stripped you and through a stratagem took you captive, hath been brought to naught by the Cross of Christ.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Fixed to the tree, O our Saviour, of thine own will, thou didst redeem Adam from the curse of the tree; for since thou art compassionate, thou gavest back to him that which is in accordance with thy image, and a dwelling-place in Paradise.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

This day, O Christ, art thou risen from the grave, granting incorruption to all the faithful, restoring joy to the Myrrh-bearing women, after the Passion and Resurrection.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Rejoice ye wise, ye women and myrrh-bearers, who were the first to behold the resurrection of Christ, and to proclaim unto his Apostles the recalling of the whole world.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad : for great is your reward in heaven.

Ye Apostles, friends of Christ shewn openly, ye shall be enthroned together with him in glory : make now your intercessions as his Disciples, that we might stand beside you in boldness before him.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

O Trinity without beginning, Essence undivided, O Unity enthroned together, of one honour in glory, kingship and nature beyond all beginning, ever save them that trustingly sing unto thee.

Now and forever, and to the ages of ages.

Hail, God’s wide constraint. Rejoice, Ark of the New Covenant. Rejoice, golden jar from which the heavenly Manna was given to all.
