As the one chosen to bear Jesus in the womb, Mary may be seen as Mount Sion in Jerusalem, the city of God, where the Temple stands, which was the dwelling place of God in his glory.
GREAT is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God. (Ps 47:1)
The heavens have declared his righteousness, and all the people have seen his glory. (Ps 96:6)
GLORIOUS things have been spoken of thee, O city of God. (Ps 86:3)
Thy temple is holy, wonderful in righteousness. (Ps 64:5)
